The Sustainability Impact Accelerator has signed a new contract with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), marking a continued partnership to support sustainable infrastructure development.
The contract, valued at SEK 125 million, will be implemented until 2029 and is financed under the Swedish Government’s Strategy for Sustainable Growth, Green Transition and Education. The Sustainability Impact Accelerator supports sustainable and bankable infrastructure projects in low- and middle-income countries by strengthening capacity, managing risks and aligning stakeholders.
The new contribution is expected to strengthen the links between Swedish trade and development cooperation, while increasing Sweden’s contribution to the global climate transition. It will also help mobilise additional financing for sustainable development. The agreement was signed by Sofia Östmark, Assistant Director General and Head of Department at Sida, and Christine Bäckström, Chief Executive Officer of the International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR).
